Amanda R. KING's Bridal Portrait Shoot

On October 1, 2011 my best friend got married.  Amanda Redding KING and I were in the same sorority at Appalachian, Alpha Phi.  She is my "big sister" and best friend.  When she first brought Nick around I knew he was her match, he was it.  Nick is a good ol' country boy that loves to hunt and loves to fish, but his love for Amanda is more powerful than both combined.  I am SO happy for them and I know they will have a long happy life together.

So yes, I cried when she told me he asked her.  I will never forget that conversation, "So, I hope you like Nick, because he is going to be around for a while.  WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!"

I cried when she asked me to be in her wedding.  She is such an amazing person and to know that she wanted me there and to be a part of her wedding meant so much to me.

And I cried when she came to me and asked me if I would be her makeup artist.  I mean, she was trusting me with her FACE, and even though she wakes up out of bed looking beautiful, it was such an honor.

Wedding details and pictures will come in my next blog, but wanted to showcase her portraits first.  Her bridal portraits were taken in Boone, NC at a location the photographers were familiar with.  It was such a fun day to be out in the beautiful Boone weather, and Amanda looked STUNNING.

So for my next tips:
  • Use a water-resistant liner that can withstand tears; try Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner applied with the Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush. If you prefer to line with shadow, make it longer-lasting by applying it with a slightly damp Eye Liner Brush. Finish with a water-resistant mascara.
  • Neutral and pale lip colors look washed out in photographs, so choose a lipstick that’s one to two shades brighter than what you normally wear. Pinks, roses and plums are great choices for brides.
  • To make Lip Color last longer, line and fill in lips with Lip Pencil before applying your lipstick.
